Description
Diede Verpoest started to study music at a very early age since both his parents are musicians. He finished his studies at the academy August de Boeck in Asse with his father and graduated with highest distinction. He followed courses in France with the Danel Kwartet and joined numerous workshops with among others: Eric Sluys, Koen Rens, Peter Nys, Jeanne Janssens, Barbara Parham, ToveDetrekoy...
He joined the orchestra 'Jeug en Muziek' with Ivo Venkov in South Africa in 2010. In 2010 he won the Dexia Classics music competition. He graduated from the Brussels Conservatory where he mastered the violin and the alto violin. As a classical musician Diede gained plenty of solo and orchestral experience during music projects in Belgium and abroad (South Africa, Italy, France...). However, folk music was never far away for Diede and it led him to Roots in 2012. Since then he provides singing and wailing fiddle sounds full of character for the band.
